Fresh snow fell from the sky all day today
Big clumps of confetti covering the sidewalks
Sticking to eyelashes
For weeks I’ve been begging for a bit of snow
To cover up the muddy leftovers from January storms
It’s lovely
It makes February bearable
This fresh slate
There’s only so much you can do when you’re staring
at the hard frozen snow of yesterday
But new snow?
The possibilities are endless…

Corinne, we’ve had three feet of snow over the past week or so. Feel free to come visit ours the next time you’re feeling like you don’t have enough. I’ll have some DC and Twizzlers waiting for you…
oh the possibilities…
you did it again… made me just a little teary. but that is a-ok. a girl needs to feel
Beautiful! That is how we are feeling here also. We finally got a few fresh inches this evening. I am hoping to wake up in the morning with more. It does make everything new. Makes me think of the old hymn “Wash me whiter than snow Lord”.
There is something so refreshing about new snow, or a good hard rain… makes life feel renewed again.

Gorgeous (photos and words). It reminds me of one of my favorite Robert Frost poems:
The way a crow
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From a hemlock tree
Has given my heart
A change of mood
And saved some part
Of a day I had rued.
Wow. How much is it gonna go before it’s done??
Fresh fallen snow atop of old blackened snow is so symbolic to me … if it must snow, then I, too, want the fresh white dusting over the old.
Lots of beauty in that world of fallen white. You’ve captured it doubly good — with your photos and your words.
Sending you love and friendship tonight.
Absolutely beautiful – the words and the photos!
So true. Beautiful pictures, too.
Oh, I’ve had enough of snow! And we got another foot or so last night. And it’s still snowing. I might very well go crazy from it. (Okay, not so much the snow as the snowbound-with-a-restless-preschooler syndrome that accompanies it.)
fresh slate ~ perfect , Corinne.
and with the season of Lent comes the season of renewal
love to you
Thanks for making me see the beauty in this white stuff. Because we have more coming our way this weekend
You are right though–a new blanket of snow looks so fresh.
We have some of the most beautiful snow covered trees in our neck o’ the woods. Especially when the sun hit them this morning. The shoveling of the drive? not so beautiful. :p
I’ve got my own fresh slate today, but in a very different way.
This is beautiful.
I love love with all my heart and soul new snow. Nothing is more peaceful, innocent, and beautiful in my mind. If I could just get healthy and go out and play in it!! Love the images (both written and visual!!).
Loving those words, Corinne. I love fresh fallen snow and the possibilities it brings.
sort of makes me bored with the 75 degree weather here.
i would love a little snow.
although i probably wouldn’t know what to do with myself.
still…it’s beauty astounds me.
Totally agreed! I love fresh snow and clean slates! You have some gorgeous winter shots there!
Um. This is gorgeous. I can’t think of anything else to say. GORGEOUS.
Gorgeous, Corinne. Gorgeous.
