You Capture – your real life

My real life consists of toys. Trains, balls, stacking blocks… you name it, we probably have it (as long as it doesn’t light up and use a ton of batteries… those often get stashed in my closet… )

I do load after load of dirty laundry in my real life. Mostly real, some figurative.

In my real life, some weeks are busier than others, and I live by my calendar. In my past life I never needed calendars, but in my real life my brain went out the window when my children entered this world.

My real life is filled with messy joy. Babies that smell like yogurt because they feed themselves with joy. Toddlers that also smell like yogurt because it’s the only thing he will happily eat.

My real life includes a proud toddler, who received a “brand new Gordon and his tender!” for potty excellence…

…and a willful baby who still falls asleep in her mamas arms.

In my real life I play trains all day, and sometimes have as much fun as my son. We take them on adventures to the zoo, up mountains, down mountains, skiing, hiking, to visit cows and airplanes and grandparents.

And in my real life, we sip hot chocolate from sippy cups and mugs, drinking in the simplicity and joy of our real life.

  1. What great captures! Makes me miss the hours (and hours and hours) of Thomas play in our house, tho’ at 12 my son still gets his set out every once and a while. It’s WAY beat up, but much loved. I love the yogurt face, and the pride in that new Gordon trophy 🙂

  2. What lovely pictures! My real life looks strikingly similiar to yours. I now live by my calendar, too. Strange how the addition of two kids automatically diminishes normal brain functions, right?!

  3. Love the pictures! Your real life is GOOD.

  4. I absolutely love the colors in the first shot. LOVE!

  5. Laura

Love the yogurt shot, but the sleeping one is so so so precious! And the train one too – I love them.

  6. love that sweet sleeping baby! Mine turn 8 and 10 next week…I miss the days of them sleeping on my chest!

  7. You managed to make your real look artsy too! Good job, and I LOVE the warm Chocolate in the sippy cups!! Yes, drinking in the sweetness of real life is a must!

  8. You can beat a good yogurt smile! Adorable!

  9. your real life sounds absolutely lovely! Mommy brains are the worst, I’m not sure what I would do without my calendar and a few to-do lists!

  10. Looks like a beautiful life!

  11. Figurative laundry…love it!! 🙂 Great shots!

  12. Sweet photos…your real life looks awesome!

  13. Nothing better than a sleeping, precious baby in your arms! I feel your pain with all the trains! Thankfully, I have two boys, so they get played with everyday! Great captures!

  14. Your real life is very precious!

  15. they’re 2 they’re 4 they’re 6 they’re 8…shunting cars and hauling freight…. 🙂

Your captures look very familiar to me. 🙂

  16. I’m just loving that silly yogurt face. So cute!

  17. I like your real life. Hot chocolate from sippy cups? You are one awesome mama.

  18. I love Paige’s yogurt face, and the photo of Fynn laying on the floor playing with his trains!

I can relate to living by the calendar…I can’t remember anything anymore if it’s not written down! (I’m still blaming sleep-deprivation for that).
